In Loving Memory of Alex and Adrian Trujillo

Just one day before Father’s Day, June 19, 2010, Alex Trujillo’s life was cut short at 33-years old when an armed gunman entered a restaurant where he was dining with his wife and their two sons.  The gunman fired several rounds killing Alex and his eldest son, 6-year old Adrian Trujillo.  His wife Roxanne, 29, and their youngest child, 5-year old Ethan, also sustained multiple gunshot wounds.  Alex Trujillo was a son, a brother, a husband and a father.  Six-year old Adrian was taken from us all too soon, perhaps Heaven needed another angel.  Roxanne is currently hospitalized and listed in good condition and five-year old Ethan Trujillo is in fair condition.  We ask that you keep Roxanne and Ethan in your thoughts and prayers as they will have a difficult road to recovery.

Alex was such an amazing human being, but amongst all the wonderful things he was, he was mostly known for being a dedicated father.  Alex played a very active role in his boys’ daily lives including their education, providing guidance for them, and acted as a volunteer parent at their school.  He made sure the boys’ needs were placed before his, making self-sacrifices so that he was able to offer them the opportunity of a better life.  Adrian was a vibrant and active little boy.  Swimming and racing R/C cars were his favorite past times.  Alex was always constructing ramps and various tracks for the boys’ to use with their R/C cars.  Alex and the boys’ were a fixture at family events.  We count our blessings that we are able to have such wonderful memories of Alex and Adrian.  Alex’s number one priority was protecting his babies.  Although no one in the world will ever be able to replace such an amazing father, as his surviving family, we plan to continue that legacy through Ethan.

The outpour of support and condolences from the community has been overwhelming.  We are deeply humbled and words cannot express our gratitude.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to assist with funeral and medical costs.  We sincerely thank you from the bottom of our hearts for any amount you are able to contribute.

Hi my name is Carrie and i went to high school with Alex, we had several classes together. This is a tragedy for everyone to lose 2 wonderful people. I haven’t seen Alex since high school however i would communicate through Facebook to catch up on old times. Just a old classmate of mine. I’m so sorry for this, I pray that his wife and other child make a full and speedy recovery. May GOD bless this family to not have anymore harm, this is enough for many families to go through. Now GOD has 2 more wonderful angels to his team. It is so sad we had to lose them. God bless his family and you will always be in my prayers.

    Dear Trujillo Family,

Many years have passed since we have seen each other. So many changes have taken place in our lives. Hearing of this tragic news has flooded me with so many memories. I am terribly saddend by the loss of such a wonderful young man and his precious son. I remember Alex as a little boy of course. The one memory that sticks out in my mind of Alex was when you first got your pool and we used to go swimming and he would tease us relentlessly. Funny how annoying that was back then, yet thinking back on it only brings up happy memories.

Even though we haven’t seen each other in years, my very first thought was how can I reach out to you. Help you all out in anyway possible. All I wanted to do was gather you all up and give you comfort. It’s heart breaking that two beautiful lives have been taken so soon. God has plans, plans that we can never fully understand here on Earth. As heart breaking as it is, take comfort in knowing that in some way both of them have touched the lives of so many, and though their time here on Earth was short, those of us who have been graced by their friendship will forever be showered with the Blessings of being a part of their lives………. I Love You All And My Prayers Are With You Always……………

To Jenni and the Trujillo Family,
My heart is heavy and my eyes are filled with tears as I write this to you. Words cannot express how terribly I feel for what has happened to your family. The loss of a loved one is a difficult burden to bear, but when it happens under these horrific circumstances, the burden is compounded exponentially. I wish I could ease the pain and heartbreak that you are feeling. I hope it helps to know that so many people are thinking of you and supporting you during this family tragedy. Cherish your memories of dear Alex and your precious little Adrian. There will come a time when you will want to share those beautiful memories with Ethan to help keep their spirits alive. Be strong for Ethan as he will need your love and support more than ever now. My heart and thoughts are with you………Jitske

Long has it been since I’ve seen or talked to Alex and his family. But many great memories were made in the years I got to know both Alex and Roxanne. Your loss is truly a sorrowful one. I wish I was a part of that family as we all were once upon a time. But a big family. If any good can come of this sad event let it be that we embrace our loved ones all of them and remind them they are truly important. I love you and will miss the memories not able to be made. Embrace the memories we have all made together. Though it will be tough think about the happy times when your down and force a smile. You are being looked upon by the angels taken too soon.
    Your friend always

  14. Penny Holt says:

Many tears have been shed on my part over this. Words cannot express the pain and failure to understand why such a thing has happened….Roxanne was my best friend in 8th grade at Golden Valley and Alex and I talked on Face Book alot….He was so so proud of his children and would ask if I had seen the videos or new pictures he posted multiple times….what a great dad and friend. He promised to go karaoke one night at Stinger’s where I’m the K.J……but only God knows why he was taken and can’t fulfill what was promised. None of us know when our last day will be, for if we did we would be sweeter and spend every waking moment with our loved ones. I still remember when Roxanne was pregnant with Adriane….how happy and proud she was to be a mom….just beamed of happiness….we lost touch shortly after he was born. I am trying to get back in touch with her and tried to drop off a balloon and a couple cards at the Hospital, they told me she wasn’t there. I assume she just isn’t able to take visitors and I completely understand….I do however want to be able to send her a card directly so we can reconnect when she is ready. If you could have someone e-mail with some info I would greatly appreciate it. Penny.Holt@roadrunner.com. The family of Alex are still in my prayers as are Roxanne and Ethan….Still so unreal…..Alex, I will miss you untill I see you in heaven one day and Roxanne I Love You….will be praying for you my friend forever…..xoxoxo

Dear Jenny & family, the Trujillo family,
My deepest condolences to you and your loved ones. I echo many of the sentiments already stated. I saw the news that night never imagining it would be so close to home. I know the loss of losing a loved one too soon and know there are no words to truly express my sorrow or what you are all going through. What I do know though is this: The love and support of family, friends and the community play a tremendous role in the heaing process. My thoughts and prayers go out to all affected by this tragedy!

I can’t believe your gone! Our hearts are broken, from this loss. Why????????
I have known Alex since 6th grade, and my husband has been his good friend with him since high school. We have tons of great memories with Alex, and I am sad there will be no more good times. We havent seen Alex and the boys since thanksgiving and we will always regret not spending more time together (like the old days). Until we meet again my friend thanks for your kindness and friendship.

My heart is filled with joy hearing that BOTH Ethan and Roxanne are recovering and already up and walking. Alex, who was my co-worker and best friend for several years, and his son will remain in our hearts forever. It seems that Roxanne and Ethan are both STRONG FIGHTERS, and I’m sure the both have 2 guardian angels watching over them, and Alex Trujillo’s legacy will live on!

Ever since I’ve heard about what happened, I’ve always kept your family in my thoughts and prayers. I hope that Roxanne and Ethan will be given the strength to get through this, as well as have a fast recovery. I find it comforting to know that Alex and Adrian will be smiling and watching over you from heaven. God bless you!

  25. Kevin says:

When I heard about what happened, I was shocked by the amount of harm a single man could do. I wish nothing but the very best for Roxanne and Ethan moving forward. Alex seems like a terrific husband and father and Adrian a wonderful son and brother. Though their loss is extremely tough on the family, I believe their presence in Heaven will shine down and bring strength to Roxanne, Ethan, and the rest of the family.

Rest in peace, Alex and Adrian. Wish you all the best, Roxanne and Ethan.
